AIM for Excellence: Promoting Health
Care Quality in the Outpatient Setting
Project Overview
Chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes
account for about 70 percent of all U.S. deaths and approximately 75 percent
of health care costs each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention. To combat these staggering statistics, the Dallas-Fort
Worth Business Group on Health (DFWBGH) has partnered with American Airlines
and UnitedHealthcare on a new health care improvement project that aims
to enhance the quality, efficiency and outcomes of care in the outpatient
setting.
Project Support
This demonstration project is supported by an educational
grant from Sanofi Aventis and in-kind services from UnitedHealthcare.
