Celebrating the achievements of the Partnership for Peak Healthcare Performance

Over eighty DFW health care stakeholders attended the Partnership for Peak Healthcare Performance (PPHP) second anniversary dinner to celebrate this year's PPHP achievements and to learn more about some of the most exciting health care delivery initiatives going on in Texas!

Generously sponsored by sanofi aventis, the November 17, 2009 dinner program highlighted Local Partnership Models for High Performance Care Management. The evening kicked off with a cocktail reception and poster session featuring a wide variety of local chronic care improvement initiatives, and continued with keynote speeches from Dr. Roland Goertz, President, AAFP on the Patient-Centered Medical Home - the Evidence and the Model, and Dr. Seth Garber, Mercer Inc. on the Diabetes Burden of Illness - Why Focus on Diabetes Care in DFW. Joanne Wojcik, Senior Editor, Business Insurance moderated a panel discussion featuring Dr. Karen Kennedy, CEO, Medical Clinics of North Texas on MCNT's medical home pilot in partnership with CIGNA, and Tricia Herschell, Dir. of Benefits Strategy, American Airlines on AA's "test drive" of the PPHP's newly developed employee engagement and empowerment worksite program called Road Trip! Destination: Peak Performance. Lively discussion followed the presentations, with enthusiastic audience participation.

• The Rubber Meets the Road — Marianne Fazen, PhD, Executive Director, Dallas-Fort Worth Business Group on Health presented slides highlighting accomplishments of the PPHP and previewing next year.

Panel Presentations

• Medical Home & ACO's — Dr. Karen Kennedy, MD, CAO Medical Clinic of North Texas presented slides about MCNT's Medical Home Pilot with CIGNA.
• Road Trip! Destination: Peak Performance . . . a journey to a healthier you — Tricia Herschell, Director of Benefits Strategy, American Airlines presented slides about the newly developed and tested DFWBGH - PPHP employee education and empowerment program.
