Just as research helps inform how to improve patient care,
research is guiding how the Partnership for Peak Healthcare
Performance (PPHP) is working to ensure Dallas-Fort Worth
patients receive the best care anywhere.
The PPHP conducted several research projects with employers,
health plans, physicians and consumers to find the best way
to improve the quality of care and outcomes related to diabetes.
We learned what programs and tools are currently available;
how consumers view diabetes care and use health care information;
whether diabetes patients are receiving recommended tests;
and whether test results fall within recommended levels. Out
of this research, the PPHP identified the biggest opportunities
for improving care: educating consumers, promoting best practices
in benefits design and implementation, and sharing best practices
among physicians.
The research reports below provide baseline data by which
to measure future progress; identify gaps in programs, practices,
resources and tools; and show where the PPHP can have the
greatest impact.
